FRIENDS OF THE VIRGINIA HORSE CENTER

I am pleased to report that the budget conferees approved an amendment in the amount of $890,000 to be applied toward this year's $1.2 million payment. The appropriation was made "official" during the April 6 Veto Session. In addition to the $890,000, Governor Warner also included an additional $10,000. Your letters were instrumental in educating state officials about the prominence and importance of the Virginia Horse Center.

If you have an opportunity to express your appreciation to members of the General Assembly or Governor Warner's Cabinet, please do so. I am told it is not often that public servants receive a "thank you" and when they do, they remember it.
